British Cheese Weekender
With so many friends deeply involved in the cheese industry, we’re delighted to be supporting the inaugural British Cheese Weekender, to help save struggling British cheese!
This weekend 8-10 May (Friday-Sunday), tune into a free, online cheese festival featuring live-streamed talks, tastings, farm tours, quizzes and cooking demos by some of the country’s leading cheese experts.
At The Gog, we’re showcasing three of our favourites this weekend! Visit the farm shop all this week to get your hands on these and a whole host of other British cheeses to have your very own cheese tasting at home.
Kirkham’s Lancashire – The famous ‘buttery crumble’ with tangy bright flavours, made with raw cow’s milk. You’ll know Graham Kirkham from The Gog Cheese Festivals!
Isle of Mull Cheddar – A Scottish Cheddar, it is rich and savoury with an almost boozy tang, made with raw cow’s milk.
Coolea – An Irish take on a traditional Gouda, it is rich, smooth and sweet with hints of caramel and honey, made with pasteurised cow’s milk. (OK, so not strictly British, but a tiny producer and suffering from the same plight and oh so delicious!)
Last but not least, we have plenty of BREAD FLOUR (yes, we do!). So why not bake yourself a lovely fresh loaf to accompany your delicious farmhouse cheese?
